The New Sylva: A guided walk with Gabriel Hemery

Join the author of The New Sylva on a guided walk around the Sylva Trail at Harcourt Arboretum.  Learn more about what inspired him to rewrite Evelyn's landmark book of 1664, what trees have meant to us over the centuries, and the future of our forests.  Gabriel is a chartered forester and the Chief Executive of the Sylva Foundation.

Christmas wreath making with Tamsin Fraser

Make your own beautiful Christmas wreath using natural materials from the Arboretum and the Botanic Garden.  You will get lots of inspiration and handy tips and help to make a moss-based wreath to take away with you, using unusual materials including berries, seed pods, dried fruits and flowers, rose hips, lavender, feathers, pine cones and more.

10am to 12.30pm or 1.30pm to 4pm

Tickets cost £45 per person.

Tree Planting with Ben Jones, Arboretum Curator

Tree planting is not a difficult job but a very important one to get right if your new tree or shrub is to have the best start in life.  Come along and learn the fundamentals of tree planting and get the chance to plant a tree in the Arboretum!
